COLD AIR ISN’T ALWAYS CLEAN AIR
Over 2/3 of vehicles are fitted with air conditioning and climate control systems as standard these days. Many of us will be familiar with using air con in our car on hot days; however your system is also useful in winter.
Air con systems create dry warm air rather than the normal humid air from outside demisting your car windscreen even quicker. Most people are unaware that car manufacturers recommend your air con system is serviced every 24 months. As this is not part of the routine service schedule if your car is more than 2 years old it is more than likely to need a recharge
Having your air conditioning serviced every 24 months reduces the chance of the system failing. Approximately 10% of the gas contained within the air conditioning system escapes each year causing it to work harder and less efficiently.
Replenishing the gas and oils ensures the system operates as effectively as possible and provides a longer serviceable life. Sanitising the air ducts helps reduce contamination which leads to bad odours and a buildup of bacteria which, in some cases, could trigger allergies.
REASONS TO HAVE YOUR AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM CHECKED
- Improved Concentration & Comfort: Regulated temperature enables you to concentrate whilst driving
- Cost Savings: Ongoing maintenance helps improve fuel efficiency
- Protecting the Environment: Fault prevention prevents leakages of harmful agents gases to the environment
- Cleaner Air to the Cabin: Air con service is completed by replacing with a new cabin filter (at additional cost)
