SOME PICK-UPS ARE NOW SUBJECT TO SPEED LIMITATIONS…NOT THE ISUZU D-MAX
Pick-ups that exceed the legal 2,040kg unladen weight classification for dual-purpose vehicles are no longer covered by passenger car speed limits, meaning they should not travel faster than 60 mph on a dual carriageway and 50 mph on a singles carriageway, 10 mph less than the national speed limit for cars. The Isuzu D-Max Double Cab, which has an unladen weight of up to 1,959kg offers all of the powers and capabilities of a dual-purpose vehicle, without the restrictions.
All of the pick-ups in the Isuzu D-Max Range fall into the dual-purpose category, giving you, or your customers, an extensive choice to find the perfect vehicle for whatever the purpose and requirements may be, such as a proper workhorse in the utility range or a premium vehicle such as the Isuzu D-Max Blade.
According to the road vehicles (construction and use) regulations, published by the DFT (Department for Transport), a dual-purpose vehicle is:
‘A vehicle constructed or adapted for the carriage both of passengers and of goods or burden of any description, being a vehicle with an unladen weight that does not exceed 2,040kg’
Most Double Cab pick-ups fall into the dual-purpose vehicle group but a number of our competitors exceed the maximum weight capacity and many customers have not been made aware of these restrictions when purchasing a pick-up.
